Blitz TV Interview
submitted by: Sebastian
date: Sat, 6 Jun 1998
from: Germany

Here is what I know about the BLITZ interview:

Interview on SAT 1 Blitz.....
Whitney did an interview for the German TV station SAT1 and talked about many interesting things. The interview took place in a hotel in New York. Whitney looked VERY fine (of course). She said that she was really looking forward to the European tour. She mentionend, that Germany was one of her biggest markets and said, that she liked Germany very much. In her words: "The Germans know how to give love"!!! As she hasn't done a concert in Europe for four years now, she said, that in Europe it wasn't important how many concerts there are, but what qualety there are of and that they had a very high weight.

She also talked about her new PROJECT. She said that she was working with some of the hottest and most succersful producers in the US and that this new album was a bit a change into a new, more modern direction (whatever that means) and that the sound that resulted from this modern combination was really great and very interesting.

Well, here is more about the interview on SAT 1.

When they asked her about the role she played in the Bodyguard, she said that she played a woman in a very extreme situation and that such a situation wasn't normal in her life. But she also said: Well, in this business we have to protect ourselves so that we are safe. It's a shame, but it's the way it is....

They also asked her about her visit in South AFRICA and what she felt when she met Nelson Mandela. She said, that she was very pleased and felt like she wasn't WH and he wasn't N.Mandela. He was just like a father to her.

She didn't say anything more about the new Album and unfortunately she didn't say anything about a release date.

Finally, I would like to say, that Whitney was very relaxed and cool and I think that she has the power to return into business with a mega hit like IWALY or so.

Talk soon,
Sebastian
