My Night with Whitney & Her fansConcert date: 01/7/00 Atlantic City
Review of the show: Let me start by saying that I still tired from the Whitney experience. After driving a total of 7.50 hours about 300 miles (I drove back home after a late dinner with some fan-friends). For a 1.30 HR show, some might call me CRAZY. I call me a WHITNEY HOUSTON FAN 'til the end. I of course was running late (Black time) I got dressed in the car LOL, yeah I know it's ghetto but I didn't have a room. I ran in to the fan meeting that wasn't because everyone else ran late also. As I entered the casino I ran into Bobby (& later Steve) he (They) Never miss a Whitney show. I also ran into the KING of Whitney fans Dan Leba, Jr. Dan of course was on the front of the line waiting to get in as he always is : ) he had waited since 5 to get in first. I just want you all to know whenever there is a line in the New York New Jersey area for Whitney - You can walk to the front and say hello to Dan-That's where you will find. I also meet the very beautiful Lopez & and her husband as well a Rodney. Dan was nice enough to ask for a table for six to get Bobby, me and our guest the best seats available for the ticket buying public. As you might know-there were general Admission seats all which were all toward the middle to the back of the concert hall. The front was saved as reserved. Had I thought about it then we could have demand to sit there since GA "means first come first serve" and they said nothing about reserving seats for others and/or that they would hold the first half of the venue to do so. Once inside I meet the very pretty Lisa, Madison, Tony, Joe, Quant, NYJohn and a few names that I'm sorry to say I can't remember. Just before the show I went for a walk outside the venue and ran into a very small yet quite beautiful Deborah Cox. She was just standing outside with one man and no bodyguards insite.I had a chance to say a few words that make her smile and reach to shake my had. She was very nice. After walking around and mingling it was show time - There was some cornie Comedian and then it was time for the Diva to take the stage. Whitney hit the stage with a voice that was very powerful and she looked spectacular as usual. The set list seam to be the same as the night before. She started out in a black dress with a little cape thingie the dress had some sort a jewels on it. It was far nicer that that D&G stuff that she wore on the last tour. After about 6 songs Nippy went in for a costume change leaving the stage to Gary (Why didn't anyone ever sign him?). When Gary was done Whitney took the stage again to our delight and she finish her set with the powerful voice that started it all. I must say the only thing I hate about any Whitney show is the second half because you know its not long before she will make her final exit of the night. A night that I hate to see come to an end. I think in all I have seen Whitney about 14 times (Maybe more the old brain aint what it use to be) and I still hate to see the show end. After the show we left to meet at Planet Hollywood, We talked until about 1:15 before we decided to call it a night. I still had a long ride a head of me. While walking back to my car (dress room LOL) I ran in to Mother Houston (Cissy) She was waiting to get on the elevator. I waived and thought to my self what if that was Whitney? I might have fainted right where I stood. I heard that Whitney had been seen in walking around the hotel/cassino Friday after the show. BTW..... The Hats went over very well- I could have sold 50 of them easy. Everyone kept asking me where they came from it got to the point that I had to hide them when I took them out the bag so people would not ask for one.
