Description Of 'Whatchulookinat' Music Video

Date: October 03, 2002

Submitted by: Matthew

I saw the new video this morning three times on MTV Europe. I am here in Geneva and it was "exclusive" apparently.

Whitney had two different looks in the video. One was very much like the look when she performed at the 1999 Grammys at the beginning with the hat and the hair the same. the other look was very much like the "Fine" video and she was looking very good, very sexy and very healthy. Her hair was dark and a tad wavy and a little past her shoulders, she was wearing tight leather pants and a tight black top. Her dancing and antics were very much like those in the photo shoot on the "Whitney: The Greatest Hits" DVD.

The set was white with cameras all over, following her every move. The backdrop had prints of old movie cameras in black and white and there were about 10 young guys dressed as reporters and photographers from the 50's and 60's ... zoot suits ... dancing behind her..i saw one little girl at the end dancing as well.

The set is somewhat reminiscent of TLC's "No Scrubs" video - very white, clean looking and minimalist. Her makeup is the bomb as well ... she looked great ... and modern ... and young.

Whitney dances her usual "two steps here and three steps there' throughout the video, and at one point she is sitting in front of the boys quite like in the "It's Not Right But It's Okay" video. At one point she is on the floor kneeling and shaking her head with her hair flying all over the place.

At the end of the video, there is a man taking a picture of her with a disposable camera and he says, "I will always love you."

The video received three plays on MTV Europe in the span of 90 minutes this morning.
