Whitney Phones It In For Enrique Duet, Remix Of New Single

Date: December 01, 1999

If you tell Whitney Houston she "phoned in" her most recent performances, she has no reason to be offended.

That's just what the diva did for her share of the duet "Could I Have This Kiss Forever" with Enrique Iglesias, which can be found on his just-released album "Enrique."

Long-distance duets have become something of a standard industry practice, and while Whitney was in Europe, she took the technique a step further for a remix of her new single, "I Learned From The Best."

"I did the remix, the house remix of 'I Learned From The Best' over the phone," Houston told MTV News' John Norris during the 1999 MTV Europe Music Awards. New York-based producer Junior Vasquez handled the duties of adding the phoned-in vocals to the "Best" house remix; the original version of the song appears on Houston's 1998 album "My Love Is Your Love."
