Rachel's Report: Three new songs!

Date: October 31, 1998

From Phone conversation with a fan in USA
Submitted by: Rachel D.

CD SAMPLER: contains 4 songs -- "When You Believe," "It's Not Right But It's Okay," "Heartbreak Hotel" and "I Learned From The Best." The CD sampler cover picture is the same photo that was censored on this Web site.

It's Not Right But It's Okay

Chorus/hook: "It's not right/ But it's okay/ I'm gonna make it anyway/"
Xylophone in background, (same instrument as the beginning of "The Boy Is Mine")
Weird drum beats in background
Voice is R&B-ish
Mid-range vocals, with some high notes in adlibs
Upbeat song

Heartbreak Hotel

Starts with whisper of song title "Heart - break - ho - tel"
What we heard on ET was the very beginning of the song
Very R&B; kind of bland
Song breaks down in the middle, and they whisper again: "Heart - break - ho - tel"
All 3 divas adlib at the end of the song -- not a screamfest, not like When You Believe -- each of them take their turn for lead vocals. This is the best part of the song.
"I ain't gon' take it no more" adlib at the end is sooo appropriate for the song.

I Learned from the Best

This is the David Foster song
Ballad with a beat (kind of like an R. Kelly song, but not really)
Piano/keyboards in background
Chorus/hook: "And so you know the way it feels to cry/ .../ Baby I learned the way to break a heart/ I've learned from the best/ I learned from you/"
Bridge has guitar and strings (violins)
The last note "I learned from youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu" will BLOW YOU AWAY COMPLETELY!!!!!!
Probably going to be a guaranteed favourite song of ALL fans, no matter if you like the Whitney of the 80s or the 90s!!!
Why is there only ONE D. Foster song on this album?
