Chart-topping pop star Whitney Houston's next single looks like being another monster hit - it is already getting regular radio airtime before even being released.
Whitney, who scored a festive number one hit on both sides of the Atlantic with I Will Always Love You, is following it with another track from her latest album. Her version of the Chaka Khan song I'm Every Woman is due out here around February 8 - but radio stations are already lifting it from her album to play. It had seven airings on BBC Radio 1 last week and 49 on London's Capital Radio.
"For a single not available yet and without even a firm release date that is extraordinary," said a spokeswoman for the American singer.
Whitney, 29, is currently hot property. Her debut film The Bodyguard, in which she appears with Kevin Costner, has increased her appeal. She has been besieged with offers of more film roles - but with her first baby due in March she has not yet committed herself to another.
Meanwhile, I Will Always Love You has become Britain's biggest selling single of 1992, with sales of more than 1,360,000 to date. It is also the best selling CD single ever.
Whitney, married to singer Bobby Brown, has been accompanying him as a guest performer on his current US tour, despite her pregnancy. He is planning a series of concerts in Britain later this year and she is expected to travel here with their baby to be with him.
