The Preacher's Wife: review by Tom C.
Subject: Heavenly review

I went to see The Preacher's Wife already!!!!! It is the feel-so-great Christmas movie!!! And everybody should celebrate the season with a movie filled with joy, hope, happy and glory like this.

And for Whitney fans --- we couldn't miss it for the world. Whitney is so beautiful and she "saaanggg" a lot.

From Lawrence Manuel

I saw the the sneak preview of The Preacher's Wife last night. Just wanted to let you know what I thought of the movie:

It's light family entertainment, but it's quite a charmer. I didn't really believe the church was going to go under. And I didn't feel a strong chemistry between Denzel and Whitney. But everyone's likable in it. Denzel is cute and funny. Courtney carries the movie. And Whitney is beautiful and gives the movie a musical high. People applauded after she sang "I Believe in You and Me" and the audience was clapping along with "Joy to the World." Whitney is not much of an actress. For the most part, she just plays herself -- which isn't bad. It works for the movie. Who else could play that role anyway?

The surprise to me was that there weren't more gospel songs in the movie. I thought "I Go to the Rock," "He's All Over Me" and "Joy" would be featured. I thought the pop songs in the soundtrack were added to make a gospel album more mainstream. But it looks like Whitney really wanted to do a gospel album. I bought the album last week and I was disappointed in "My Heart is Calling" and "You Were Loved." However, in the movie, these songs sounded great!
