Cinderella's Shadow...

Posted by Angela Gipson on November 07, 1997 at 13:08:46:

I really enjoyed this production of "Cinderella" directed by Whitney. Probably the biggest plus for me was the diversity factor. I feel all-of-the characters did a very good job accordingly and close to the original script, but I honestly feel that Whitney over-shadowed Brandy. Of course Whitney has stage presence, and we all know this, but some parts should have been solos for Brandy. I guess the biggest thing that keeps coming to mind was when Brandy's character was on the way to the ball....I mean, Whitney was all over the place: Seated next to her, floating outside of the carriage, hell - with the Coachman driving the carriage. Whitney really didn't have to be in front of the camera THAT much did she? Although I am a fan of Whitney's, I felt that Brandy should have had more to highlight her talent. Brandy seemed a little tentative at times, and maybe that's because she was shadowed? At any rate, overall it was enjoyable. Both myself and my nephew enjoyed the movie!

Sorry. I can't just let that one go by...
I can't believe you! Whitney was in the movie for a total of maybe 10 minutes max! Brandy was in the movie for two hours!
And U R complaing that WH was hogging the spotlight?!

What planet are you from? You think they should have cut out the "Godmother" role altogether?

Sorry, but you make absolutely no sense whatsover.

~ Rachel.
