>>>10-22 to bad for Toni.
>>>
>>>yeah, all because of whitney lol whitney got her date :( i
>>>hope they push toni back to september 17th. this is the 2nd
>>>time they moved her because of whitney.
>>
>>Dzemil don't be silly, how the (bleep) could Toni cd come
>>out on the 17th, her damn single hasn't even been released.
>>Let's be realistic. I take back what i said about Toni, she
>>never really open with big numbers, so why would u think
>>it's to bad for her. I know u didn't expect her to debut at
>>number 1 *tyree starts smiling, then bust out laughing*
>
>uhhhh, The Heat sold more them MLIYL first week :)

That's not saying much :o

+ toni's
>single is not out yet because her cd's been pushed back. but
>i heard her new song "me and my boyfriend" is coming out in
>about 2 weeks.

why is she releasing that song, a LOT of radio station have been begging Arista to released damn i forgot the name of the other song, if's been getting a lot of postive reviews according to the R&R magazine

it's the song toni choose to be fisrt single.
>it's produced by irv gotti but has no rap in it. i heard it
>will be the best song she ever released.

I love Toni to death, sh*t i paid like 100 dollars to see her on tour (when she toured with Kenny G) but i am not feeling the direction she's taking her music, she is so much better then this sh*t.

Hmmm no incorrect. The album is still eligible for this years grammys. As long as it is shipped before Oct 1st the CD is still eligible. This happened with Bob Dylan last year. His album was shipped before the ut off date but his album did not come out till about 2 weeks after the cut off date.

No, you're incorrect. Like DCwithMe said, it has to be SHIPPED by or before Sep. 30, which is only one day before Whitney's album shall be released. I don't think Bob came out in October cause I actually bought that CD in September I believe, but Radiohead was an Album Of The Year nominee last year and was released the first week of October. So was Melissa Etheridge and Elton John, who released their albums the first week of October and got Album Of The Year nominations in their respective genres.

I just wanted Whitney to be eligible for THIS years Grammy's because the competition would be less fierce. She would have better shots at the major awards, like Best R&B album. Because what R&B album is really that great that was released this year??? NONE! Brandy?? Ashanti?? R. Kelly sure as H-ELL isn't getting another grammy anytime soon. I just thought this could be her year to take home some big ones.

If this album is REALLY as good as they make it out to be, she of course can still take those grammy's home. Now the competition is just going to be much tougher. We've got Toni(who is like a stake in Whitney's heart come grammy time), TLC, Monica, Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, Deborah Cox(not REALLY a threat, but still), India Arie, and who knows who else ALL coming out with albums this year. I just hope Whitney's proves to be the best and she still walks away with something. At least she has a better shot at a vocal award now, since I just don't see Whatchulookin at winning any award for best vocals.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 08-08-02 AT 03:45 PM (EST)]According to yesterday's 'Access Hollywood' interview with LeAnn Rhimes, her new release is schedule for October 1st.

However, as competition for Whitney? I see LeAnn having her own base, but nothing that will hinder Whitney's numbers or those interested in her album.

Good. Thanks Dzemil. I'm still thrown by the potential album title, but Ashle clarified that it was brought up at the meeting and that was that. It doesn't mean it will be the title.

I remember that with MLIYL, there were rumors before that the album would be called Whitney. I think that Arista maybe uses "Whitney" as a working title or something, I'm 100% that everyone at one point thought before the MLIYL release that it was going to be named Whitney.

Whoa... lol, I don't mean to come toe to toe with you in another thread, but umm... Brandy's CD is exceptional and if you think that she won't be nominated come Grammy season you have another thing coming.

2. As poor as her music is, Ashanti is going to get nom for something, I don't know what. The Grammy's aren't credible enough to shut her out for the reasons that they should :-/

3. Best R&B album has NEVER been Whitney's category. I hope her CD will be too mainstream for that, anyway. MLIYL had the really urban feel and didn't get it, either. AOTY is more her speed, and I expect a publicity set up the size of Texas to at least *try* and ensure the nom for her.

4. Monica has never been a grammy favorite. She shouldn't even be on the threat list to Nippy. Her CD is probably going to be eligible THIS year anyway.

5. Beyonce's CD has been scrapped indefinitely, and if she is smart she won't even try to release it.

6.Kelly Rowland... lol please.

WATCH OUT FOR INDIA.

What do you guys think of "W?" Someone else mentioned it here. Would you rather have a title that plays with Whitney's name or a title that matches one of the tracks on the album? I don't want the album to be called "Whatchulookinat," that's for sure. :)

Lisa, I LOVE "W". I can just see the tie in with Conde Nast and "W" magazine right now. It would be a powerful alliance for Whitney's project... maybe? We were discussing this JUST last night, and I was saying how the fans would probably refer to this album as W2 if Whitney named it "WHITNEY" again... then Vinny threw out W2.com. That url sounds DO-PE! Ashle, are ya lisnin', boo? http://bbs.foreverbrandy.com/ubb/graemlins...s/icon_wink.gif

Either way, but W or "WHITNEY/W2" can be used so in so many ways.

>I don't want the album to be called
>"Whatchulookinat," that's for sure. :)

You and me both!

You mean the letter "W"? That would be okay I guess. As long as it's not "Whitney" because she already has a title like that and it would be confusing. I really have no title ideas, but I think they should just go with a title of a song. Personally I don't care for the "Believe" title either, I don't hate it but it's nothing special. Who cares anyways as long as they include songs on the album :) Hopefully it will be a lot of songs (at least 14), I would be a little disappointed if it's 10-12.
