Girl Groups

The following is a list of 90's girl groups and it's not based on any rank. In fact, I hate some of these groups but I am making this list to serve the purpose of this post.
SWV
Divine - Remember them?
702
Total - they disbanded and I think re-signed
TLC
Allure-remember them?
Destiny's Child
Spice Girls (why in the world did they get a record deal!)
X-scape (Capitalized on SWV's style especially with that first song)
3LW (over next year)
Dream (over in two yeard)
Popstars (What LFO and Otone are male bands. A 1x sort of success deal)
Now let's consider the ones of the past.
Labelle
Supremes
Now why in the world are so many girl groups plagued with controversy and disputes?
Why are they so often not success at all?
Why are so many fleeting?
And who's the best and why?
Terrence and I agree on SWV. I think they definitely are the best vocally and I loved their harmonies. I love their ballads, and when they came out they stood out like a sore thumb.
Is there room on this earth for Destiny's Child and TLC? Has Destiny's Child quelled interest in TLC?
I think they can both make it since their styles are so different.
Now I would like to know everybody's favorite album by a girl group.
Mine is It's About Time, SWV's first album. I think that it's fresh even today.

>702-702 and TLC-Crazy, Sexy, Cool.
702 was 702's second album, right? That album was a disappointment to me. It was okay, but I hoped for better. I loved Crazy Sexy Cool. That's one of my favorite albums ever. Case of the Fake People was an anthem for me. That was probably the biggest album by a girl group last decade. It was one of the Top 10 biggest albums last decade if you ask me. It's one of those albums I would link to a whole chapter in my life. I also thought it was funny how when their set was bulit Left Eye always stood next to the Crazy part. lol They are such rockstars. They transcend so many genres. I think they'll be popular as long as Left Eye stays in the group.

I remember MoKenStef - "he's mineeeeeee ya maaada had 'im once but i got 'im all the timeeeeeee" They had an uptempo remix (by Heavy D?) to it that was just as tite as the ballad original! MoKenStef was COOL but I had totally forgot about them until now.
Hey anybody remember the groug Girl who sung the anthem "90's Girl"?? That ish was the bomb too lol. Especially when they played it in clubs. They had this strong female empowerment thing going on. They all had SHORT hair and were featured as professionals in their video concept rather than chasing/worrying about men or behaving like objects in front of the camera. I liked that group very much, but like MoKenStef I'd totally forgotten about them until now. Where are they now?

>did they get a record
>deal!)
FYI Sporty Spice (Melanie C) is very talented. The lady can sing. I bought her album and I think it is really very nice. I TURN TO YOU is a hit record, a mega hit record.
Besides, in 1996, when they first started, the world welcomed spice girls as if they are the first ever girl group. You can not deny that they left an impact, and if it wasn't for the small fight they had with the fifth girl (Ginger) I think they would have done even more impact.

This is quite an exaggeration.

By the same measure, so did MC Hammer, but they are both jokes now and will probably remain so for all of eternity.

I don't think anybody really cared when she left.

>voice is on the same
>level,
I think Coko's voice is far superior. She can certainly do more with it and has a bigger range.
>i say that because
>both got more runs than
>a track star
LMAO!

I remember Mokenstef. He's Mine was sampled. Drama slips my mind. While I am at it, anyone remember Kut Close and Jade? Kut Close sang with Keith Sweat on Twisted, and one of the girls sang with him on Nobody. Their single was called I Like. (I Like The Way You Tease Me. I Like The Way You Sex Me.) Jade sang One Woman and a bunch of other stuff but disappeared after 1992.
