Who said that about the Xmas album?

It was me, I guarantee we get it now... They're gonna capitalize on this as much as they possibly can. It's sad and I hate that it's under these circumstances but that's not going to stop me from buying it. I want whatever that's posthumously released to sell so well they can't quit talking about it and that it breaks records. And her share of the proceeds will go to BK... I think that's the best part of it.

Wait, I didn't read everything to know what context you were asking that question in Lisa... I said that right after she passed, that if there really was one, it would be out this Christmas.

Someone (not you) said in the thread that he heard about an 80s Xmas album being released. I know that no 80s Xmas album was recorded. So I asked him about it to see where the false information was coming from. It doesn't really matter.

I will say I spent it with you.

I think people are referring to Do You Hear What I Hear. I don't think that was ever released on a Whitney album, only on that compilation album. People may assume there were other recordings from that session when in fact it was a one-off.

no I think what the people are referring to is this rumor that has been spreading around for years now that Whitney recorded an X-mas Album between like 88-94 that was shelved. I've heard this rumor since about 99 lol

Yeah me too and that when Whitney decided to do a Christmas album they wouldn't want to use vocals from a decade ago that were clearly differrent. However, I'm not sure if it's true. I want to believe it, however at the same time it could be an Urban Legend.

About the rumored Xmas album

When i was i kid i specifically remember that radio, even same print, were saying Whitney's next album was gonna be a Xmas album. I remember cause i didn't like Xmas songs at all, and was kindof like errrr, that's gonna be boring and my mum had to convince me because it is Whitney, I'm gonna love Xmas songs like never before. lol. Then IYBT came out. Bit i don't know if anything was recorded tho.

An unreleased footage dream for me would be seeing Whitney playing the keys, and singing with that iconic voice. Of course, when the time cames, i only worry about it all cause MJ fans tell me all there shambles with MJ unreleased gems, but like the rest of you, having the gift that keeps on giving thru unreleased goodness would be a true blessing, even tho how pissed i am at the label for using business strategy ahead of love.

Miss you so much Whitney, the gift.

that SNL video in the "Funny Whitney" thread reminded me that i would so love to get my hands on some behind the scenes footage, like from the making of videos, movies and stuff like that..i've always wondered why don't we get more of that stuff, you know, from movies, tv shows, etc. that's usually the best part..i would love if they would release something like that..

Oh wow, thank you. Is this the one you're talking about? I can only find this from Boston, can't seem to find the one from Jones Beach.

Ya never really know. I hope so. I'm sure it would be a classic Whitney Christmas album!

Most of those were part of her set during the "Greatest Love" 1986-87 tour. "You Send Me" was part of the Moment of Truth tour, and she performed "When I First Saw You" with Gary and Cissy, as well as "Family" at her Madison Square Garden benefit concert in 1988 (which was indeed a part of the MOT tour.)
