For blimey sakes here's the link to the song. ENJOY! don't wait for others to share do things on your own.:
Well for blimey sakes that was mean, AND that's the WRONG one! Lawd! Not the FILM version. They are talking about a LIVE performance she did in concert in 1993. One fan recorded it, and he said he'd never share it with anyone because it was such a special moment to him, as though she sang it just for him.
typical! she gives a once in a lifetime performance and only one person records it, the most selfish person in the world, of course.. smh

Precisely, if she was alive...fine. As she said her greatest song hadn't been sung yet...but since she isn't alive...give us the dang music! How could someone know how much she means to us, not to mention the world, know that all we have left of her is memories and her music and still keep the song to themselves? Well you already said it...they are selfish.

I really don't care about the when's, why's or how's regarding the release. For me, listening to her music had been comforting so as long as her estates benefits from the sales I say bring it all on. Nothing has destroyed Whitney's legacy thus far and post her departure there is nothing that will.

On a side note, I have heard rumors that a certain fan has a rare performance of RTY...since all we have is the music she left us I would hope they would strongly consider unselfishly releasing the song for the rest of us to enjoy.

Oh well, I guess like Arista everyone will do what is bets for them.

I agree. Its inevitable that this will happen. It happens with every (major) artist.

I would really love a live RTY performance, but honestly, they could release "rare" footage or audio of her doing vocal warm ups in the studio from 1989 and I'd buy 15 copies of it. That's just how I feel right now. Dionne said "So I guess the phone book is next, huh?". Heck, if she recorded it I want it.

And that's just the thing, Eboni! That kind of stuff exists! Fast forward to 3:05 and you see a taste of it!

It's funny to me that fans have been yearning for the unreleased material to be released FOR YEARS. It couldn't be soon enough... But now that she's dead we find it inappropriate.

I have to say I don't find it inappropriate at all. Doesn't really make sense to me why it would be inappropriate. It's not like it's some kind of insult to Whitney releasing her songs even if it's soon after her death.

The worry is though of course that they rush it and the quality suffers I guess.

COSIGN!! My only concern is I don't want this project to undercut Sparkle and the attached soundtrack. Let that shine and get it's day and then released the new album later. But other than that we all knew they were gonna do this anyway. Clive said it at the funeral. He's still holding her to August. I said it then, watch they put something out around August.

TO NFORM EVERYONE READING THIS I WAS ALSO TOLD BY A FRIEND OF MINE, THAT THEY ANNOUNCED THIS INFORMATION ON ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT. ALSO, I KNOW YOU ALL FEEL IT'S WAY TOO SOON BUT I HAVE ALSO HEARD--- (AND DON'T HOLD ME TO THIS). THEY ARE GOING TO RELEASE HER ORIGINAL CHRISTMAS ALBUM THAT SHE RECORDED BACK IN THE 80'S.

Who said that about the Xmas album?
If tomorrow is judgment day ...
And the Lord asks me what I did with my life,
I will say I spent it with you.

Wow, that would be great if they did. Didn't even know she recorded one back in the 80's.

I guess I missed that on ET.

You need to come with some (better) sources when you post info like this... And please don't use caps lock all the time.

I rather not get the unreleased material if we could have Whitney back :(

But seeing how this wont happen, we'll just see what happens when they decide to release stuff.

I don't fans are being difficult or inconsistent just because they want Sony/Arista to do things right with releasing Whitney's work.

Lol! Granted: I agree it's impossible for everyone to agree what "right" is.

But I don't think any true fan wants it to be done haphazardly or worse--cheap & lazy looking intending to fleece hardcore fans for easy profits. (example: little to no info in liner notes re: tracks, recycled photos when better rare/alternate pix are avail etc)

Also, I think it's not in her legacy's best interest if execs are allowed to make these decisions from a purely financial standpoint. It's doubtful but just maybe our voices as fans can provide another check and balance OR motivate somebody w/ that power to act.

Of course we want what's in the "vaults." And I know 99% of true fans like ourselves will still buy everything regardless of the quality of packaging/marketing etc. No question. But there's nothing wrong with wishin & hopin & expressing opinions now rather than later when it's done.
