I know with the numbers to be posted soon here, most will see this, but thought I might give a heads up to Whitney's movement on the album charts. This is a portion of the article from Billboard.

Adele's "21" album clocks a 23rd week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, selling 247,000 copies this week (down 17%) according to Nielsen SoundScan. It's the longest-running No. 1 since Prince & the Revolution's "Purple Rain" soundtrack scored 24 weeks at No. 1 in 1984 and 1985.

"21's" year-to-date sales now stand at 2.07 million (by far 2012's top album). Well behind in second place among the best-sellers this year is Whitney Houston's "Whitney: The Greatest Hits," with 527,000 sold.

The last time an album sold over 2 million copies this early in a year was in 2003, when 50 Cent's just-released "Get Rich Or Die Tryin'" blew through 2.6 million by March 2.

As "21" was released more than a year ago, its 2012 sales are all the more impressive. Reaching back further in the archives, the last time a months-old album rang up 2 million this fast was in 2001, when Shaggy's "Hotshot" album moved 2.12 million (through March 4).

"Hotshot" was first released in August of 2000, and in early 2001, Shaggy was riding high on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart with two No. 1s: "It Wasn't Me" and "Angel."

Getting back to this week's Billboard 200, however, Adele leads a relatively quiet chart, as there is only one debut in the top 10. "WZRD," the collaborative album from Kid Cudi and producer Dot da Genius, bows at No. 3 with 66,000. It trails Houston's "Greatest Hits" at No. 2 with 112,000 (down 36%).

The "Now 41" compilation is up a slot to No. 4 (46,000; down 15%), "The Bodyguard" soundtrack also rises a rung to No. 5 (43,000; down 9%) and Tyga's "Careless World" slips two to No. 6 (37,000; down 39%). Adele's "19" holds at No. 7 (just under 37,000; down 6%), Drake's "Take Care" climbs 13-8 (29,000; up 13%) and Rihanna's "Talk That Talk" zips 14-9 (25,000; up 9%). Houston's "Whitney Houston" rounds out the top 10, falling one to No. 10 (25,000; down 15%).

Rihanna & Chris Brown Gain Twitter, Facebook Fans After Release of Remixes

Houston has a total of nine albums on the Billboard 200 this week -- and all are within the top 100: she is found at Nos. 2, 4, 10, 13, 21, 31, 32, 50 and 80. The last time one act had nine out of the week's top 100 sellers was on Oct. 17, 2009, when the Beatles racked 11 out of the top 100....

So, I guess this means we won't get to see more than 3 albums inside the top 10... Sorry guys, we did try... And it is very close indeed. I wonder f it is still possible next week... Anyway, having EIGHT albums inside top 100 is still a notable accomplishment at this time. For sure Whitney's albums are also doing very well around the world. I just hope her supposed 170 million records estimate sales worldwide will be going up the next time they mention her overall sales. Still, well done Whitney fans around the world!

Whitney Is Undercerted In A Lot Of Countries!

Germany (BVMI)

Thomas Stein, then CEO of BMG Entertainment (GSA/Eatern Europe), said that the album My Love Is Your Love, as of 2000, sold 670,000 copies in Germany and surpassed the Platinum mark in the Billboard article on the May 13, 2000 issue. But the Bundesverband Musikindustrie (BVMI) hasn't certified the album Platinum or even Gold (the certification for the album isn't listed on its Gold & Platinum searchable database).

Netherlands (NVPI)

On an Billboard article of the Dutch group Total Touch in the July 5 issue of 1997, according to BMG Holland, their debut album sold 300,000 copies in that country at the time and achieved half the sales of The Bodyguard Soundtrack, which means that the soundtrack sold about 600,000 units there. Thus, on the basis of the certification level for the Platinum award before January 1, 2000, the soundtrack should have been certified five or six times Platinum by the Nederlandse Vereniging van Producenten en Importeurs van beeld en geluidsdragers (NVPI), but it just earned Platinum award for shipments of 100,000 copies in 1993.

Sweden (IFPI)

Billboard said that The Bodyguard Soundtrack sold 343,000 copies in Sweden in its article about the album's worldwide success featured in the issue dated October 16, 1993. According to IFPI Sweden's certification award level before Jauary 1, 1996, the soundtrack should have been certified six or seven times Platinum, but was just certified Platinum for shipments of 50,000 units on January 21, 1993.

United Kingdom (BPI)

Houston's many singles and albums were not certified rightly, lower level than the sales, or never even, although its sales surpassed the criteria of certifications by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI).

According to MTV UK's source, as of 2008, "Saving All My Love for You" and "I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)" have sold 740,000 and 760,000 copies or more in the UK respectively, but both were certified Gold for shipments of 400,000 units, not Platinum for 600,000 copies. Also, the UK sales of "One Moment in Time" was 400,000 copies or more, however the single's certification is still Silver for shipments of 200,000 copies, not Gold.
Although all six singles―"Greatest Love of All" (210,000), "So Emotional" (215,000), "I Have Nothing" (220,000), "I'm Every Woman" (205,000), "When You Believe" (255,000), and "Million Dollar Bill" (200,220)―have sold over 200,000 copies in the country and thus should have been certified Silver each, but which have not earned any certification by the BPI. The "My Love Is Your Love" single was also never certified Gold or Silver although it sold 525,000 copies beyond the criterion to reach the Gold single level.

According to Music Week, The Ultimate Collection sold 998,397 copies in the UK, as of February 2012. Such sales surpassed the 3× Platinum mark, but the certification for the album was still Platinum for shipments of 300,000 copies.
In 2011, Music Week released a list of one million sold solo albums in UK. The list said that the album Whitney sold 2,240,000 copies in the country. Such sales met the requirement for 7× Platinum certification, however, the BPI has still sticked to its 6× Platinum certification for the album since October 31, 1988. In addition, Whitney: The Greatest Hits sold 1,660,000 units, but the certification for the album has kept lower level than the sales, 4× Platinum for shipments of 1,200,000 units.

Whitney's estate needs to update these stats. It's not just for bragging rights, or even for her legacy. Rather, it says something about the quality of the albums that they are certified 6x and 10x platinum. It affects things like whether it gets listed as one of the century's essential albums, etc., and this will affect future sales and her legacy. This is serious business. It affects licencing, royalty rates, etc.

It was a gross dereliction of duty for Whitney's managers not to take care of this business when she was alive. It really is no big deal to get this taken care of annually, it should be handled yearly like clockwork. There really are no more excuses for not getting this done, and failure to follow up will harm Krissy financially, so they had better get on it now . Trustees have a fiduciary duty to professionally manage the trust's properties, so there are legal as well as financial imperatives that dictate that Whitney's managers step up their game to an objective professional level now.
