I have a Whitney Live Album. I bought it years ago. Its the audio of The "A Song For You" DVD. Comes in a nice package., same art work as the DVD. Not a Arista release. From the netherlands. Once I figure out how to upload pics Ill show u guys

Yes I have it too. Unfortunately it's not the full concert. Songs were left off & I'm not sure why. Thw Welcome Home Heroes HBO special was the 1st video concert I ever bought when released--on VHS Back then. The audio concert released outside of America came many yrs later.

It would be nice if they just re-released that, at least in the US. All we've got is bootleg stuff. I must say, I got some nice live stuff from Europe, and its getting me by. All I have been able to listen to is her live recordings and a bit of I look to you. For some reason I just can't listen to her earlier stuff now, but it's comforting to listen to her live stuff and her I look to you voice. I don't know why.

I will be trying to collect all of Whitney Houston music and performance. Whitney Houston will be among music royalty. She is the best vocalist of all time. These "singers" nowadays are just entertainers. There music will live and die in this time period. Whitney's music will be loved by generations to come. Once in life-time singer. You're the BEST WHITNEY.

No at least 100. She recorded at least 40 songs alone for Whitney.

Wow. I honestly didn't know that. Did she record anything for MLIYL or ILTY that wasn't released?

I can off the top of my head remember the track she recorded with Will.i.am for ILTY that didn't make the cut, and the Ne-yo version of I Got You (that I LOVED) that didn't make the cut.

I thought Neyo's I Got You was just a rumor (kind of like Try Born and Naughtysexylicious)? If she did record that song, I think it would be great.

That's an interesting way of looking at things. You hit the nail on the head with that.

I've always maintained that after Whitney passed (although I didn't think it would be for some years) that Arista/Sony was going to milk her much like MJ has/is being milked. There are TONS of songs & albums that Whitney recorded that were shelved & I read that Sony met early the very week after she passed to discuss "marketing" her material & that the decided to hold off promotion until a cause of death was released. There is going to be a lot of Whitney material in the coming years that's all of sudden going to "surface"

I REALLY want that MLIYL tour Documentary, I just know it's everything.

I know this is controversial, but I always believed that the reason they didn't release anything when she was still alive (not even a decent live album for the greatest live vocalist of all time) was because they KNEW this day was gonna come. They KNEW she was going to leave us early. It's just ironic that she left after going through the darkest moments of her life from 2002-2006, made a music comeback and was on the verge of a movie comeback, it happened. How ironic.

Now they're gonna milk her for decades.

they are gonna milk her till the cows come home & when they do come home, they are just gonna flip them over & milk her some more. I always felt like that & I always will.

I'm trying not to look at it as milking (even though, that's exactly what it is) but as a way that we get to continually "have her" and look forward to what they're gonna release from her. It's the way I'm rationalizing it--it makes me feel like she's still here because we're getting stuff we've never seen.

I SAID THE EXACT SAME THING 10 years ago here. Trust me. One day there'll be album re-issues w/ "alternate" takes (the famous "Aretha-ish SAMLFY version she supposedly recorded comes to mind).

I might argue that Whitney worked TOO HARD during the yrs the 1st 2 albums were recorded. She recorded then hit the world tours immediately. I think it jaded her a bit & wore her out--think how "old" she sounded in interviews during the IYBT era. She was already over the biz side of show before she hit 30.

My point... LOL! I think Arista might have pushed too hard with the initial success & for sure she wanted the success too so she did EVERYTHING!

True! That is exactly how am looking at it. They were milking her even when she was alive, so it wont be anything different from. But for us, its only good. And good even for Whitney's legacy as more songs get added to her catalog...something that I ALWAYS wanted...
I need her to be around real bad. And I know she cant be around as a person anymore, but if they keer releasing the unheard stuff...it would atleast fill the void of Whitney - the singer...

Love you Whitney!

Heck, even before then. I can't think of time from 1978 onward that she wasn't touring and recording in SOME capacity, whether it be with Cissy or on her own.
