Is the Rolling Stone one worth getting? I don't want to give my money if it's trashing her. And does it have a lot of pictures?

They pretty much trash her at the end. Their basic assumption is that she overdosed or something like that. They print all the scandalous accusations about her last days (including the Stacy Francis lies that nobody backed up) and completely ignore the counter evidence from people like Kelly Price and Rickey Minor who said she was not erratic. I wish I could get my money back I am so pissed at them.

Gotta say along with JET and LIFE's "tribute" editions, I was very impressed with the "Collector's Edition" of CELEBRITY. (The front cover from her 2009 Grammy appearance, with a bold caption underneath her name and passing:

Quote

"Queen Of Pop "

Heaven Has A New Star

The rundown of facts and stats provided -- beginning with the "introduction" page -- made this uber-factoid WH geek quite pleased. In my best WH voice: Oh, you done yo homework!

Under a photo of her performing SAMLFY during Welcome Home Heroes there reads the following:

Quote

Birth name: Whitney Elizabeth Houston

Born: August 9, 1963
Newark, New Jersey

Died: February 11, 2012 (aged 48)
Beverly Hills, California

Genres: Pop, R&B, soul, dance, gospel

Occupations: Singer, actress, model, film producer, record producer, songwriter

Instruments: Vocals, piano

Years active 1977 -2012

Labels: Arista, RCA

Associated acts: Cissy Houston, Dionne Warwick, Aretha Franklin, Jermaine Jackson, Mariah Carey, Enrique Iglesias, Bobby Brown

And just a snippet from their "Early life" on Whitters
At the age of 11, Houston began to follow in her mother's footsteps and started performing as a soloist in the junior gospel choir at the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, where she also learned to play the piano.
By the way, while I was shopping this evening I did everything I could to avert my eyes from any startling unseemly images confronting me. One of the checkout clerks apparently noticed and with a knowing smile said "We had to remove those from the front stands. Too many complaints. For a couple days we provided it at the customer's request. But it was decided to just remove that issue altogether from our store." Of course, I saw other tabloids with the usual outlandish headlines, but they didn't have Whit prominently featured. And trust, I didn't look too hard or ask too many questions. That I wasn't pelted with THAT cover was more than enough.

Anyone else notice the silhouette of MJ next to Whitney's photo featured on the cover of CELEBRITY magazine? Clever.

Life magazine has a beautiful full magazine tribute out to her. I just spotted it on the shelf at CVS and had tio pick it up, Full of pictures that break down her life in three sections. Early roots, superstar rising, and diva. It's really nice.

I found an amazing magazine today!!!!!!!! It was at our music store (HMV) here in Canada. It is called the "Ultimate Tribute Issue of Whitney Houston" and the magazine is called "Now Special Series"

The entire magazine is all Whitney, it is awesome. They talk about her modeling career, her childhood, her music, films and everything. It has pictures that I have forgotten about, and pictures that I don't think I have ever seen.......everyone should check it out!!!!!!

La Prima I got the Collectors Edition today and Whitney-fan is in this national magazine! One of the Whitney-fan's is quoted, but they don't say the name.
