When The Night Knows (Whitney Houston x Chromeo)

Love it!

SWEET!!! Mid-Tempo HWIK = Groove magic!

Here's another tribute by the rapper Twista. To my knowledge this is the first (and only so far) tribute song written for Whitney. I never thought I would love a Whitney sample on a rap track, but I actually love the section he samples from IWALY. I hope others join the track and it makes it to the radio.

Didnt see this posted yet... but I did find something in regards to Angela Bassett.....

I am so thankful to have been enveloped by the warmth of Whitney's great talents. They were undeniable and vast," Bassett, 53, tells MTV News in a statement. "Whatever her burdens, she has at last laid them down and picked up instead a crown. For truly, she was and will ever be for us -- who were so captivated by her strengths -- unparalleled."
VIDEO: Remembering Whitney Houston (1963-2012)
Devine, 62, worked with Houston on Waiting To Exhale, The Preacher's Wife and TV's Boston Public.
"I am overwhelmed. I cannot wrap my mind around this. . . When we spoke last she had just finished Sparkle and she told me how excited she was to start production on Waiting to Exhale 2 with Angela, Lela [Rochon] and myself," Devine said. "My prayers go out to her family and I am so honored for the time I spent working with her . . .I love you, Whitney, and I will miss your easy laugh."

I looooove the HWIK mix... really cool.

Don't care for Twista's song, but I appreciate him doing it if it comes from his heart...

NJ flags to fly at half-staff for Whitney Houston

Chris Christie (New Jersey Governor)
"Whitney Houston was a true New Jersey treasure. Her terribly premature death is an awful loss for her family and the incredible New Jersey musical family. Her soaring talent put her in the pantheon of great New Jersey musical talents like Frank Sinatra, Count Basie and Bruce Springsteen."

Terrible day 4 NJ music w/passing of Whitney Houston. Fellow Mendham resident, she will be missed in NJ & the music world. pray 4 her family.

The queen of soul just went up 10 notches in my book, I didn't know that she played piano! And that tribute was touching, I am at work and I swear I had to take a moment, absolutely beautiful, soulful, and meaningful.

What has Patti LaBelle said?

I can't find it right now but she released a statement, yall Patti is truly heartbroken...I read the tweet a few days ago, she was another who was very protective of and fought for Whitney. I remember seeing her countless times defending her and calling her the 8th wonder of the world, even last year when folks had written Whitney off, Patti was still willing to cut a BLEEP over Whitney

as much as I hate Christie, to see him get on TV & speak about Whitney warmed my heart.

I'm pretty sure Patti is devastated. She keeps losing all her babies. But Whitney whooo that woman had a huge place in her heart for Whitney

While not a "celebrity" tribute, it's definitely a thoughtful one all the same. From the Philippines:
