Robin Thicke Honors Whitney Houston (Ellen Show)

When he paused at the middle of the song and stared at Whitney's picture and got choked up at the end, I knew he was a true fan, like all of us here.

Loved it! Whitney's music is truly timeless. I hope that if I live long enough, 60 years from now I will still see people covering her music like this. I'm sure they will.

Tiffanie Dixon (Whitney's hairstylist) talks about Whitney on Today show

Sorry just realized this could have been placed in another thread rather than the tribute thread - if anyone thinks this is necessary could you relocate it? Thx!

This speaks volumes to me. I love Robin Thicke anyway but for him to be on the Ellen show promoting his new album, and instead sings Exhale for Whitney, that means a lot. Thank you for posting this.

That was real nice of him to perform a version of her song, and especially liked the fact that they had a video tribute playing.

So I'm cruising you tube, listening to Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, trying to zone out all this grief and unexpectedly see this. And got reminded that you can't 'zone out', cause Whitney is music. All over music. Ya know.

Sharon Jones & Dap Kings - Whitney Houston tribute - Bristol (in concert). Cute.

Love you forever Whitney, your the music in my heart.

A Brave heart is a Powerful weapon. A Voice inspires the Way. One Love. Whitney forever

Singers & Musicians Influenced by Whitney Houston

"Influence" may be too weak a word to describe Whitney Houston's effect on singers who came after her. Her musical influence transcends genres, age, gender, religion. From pop to R&B, country to hip hop, gospel to secular, Whitney Houston has influenced every singer, musician and others and opened doors to female African American singers all over the world. From Mariah to Rihanna, from Alicia to Lady Gaga, Whitney Houston has inspired countless singers, musically and otherwise. Simply put, there would be no Mariah, Celine, Beyonce, Christina, Jennifer or Mary, without Whitney Houston.

Singers who have cited Whitney Houston as a major influence:
Mariah Carey
Celine Dion
Beyonce
Christina Aguilera
Jennifer Hudson
Toni Braxton
Lady Gaga
Mary J. Blige
Kelly Clarkson
Alicia Keys
Brandy
Monica
Kelly Rowland
Michelle Williams
Robin Thicke
Jessie J
P!nk
Rihanna
Melanie Fiona
Fantasia
Nelly Furtado
Britney Spears
Keri Hilson
Ciara
Fergie
Nicole Scherzinger
Aaliyah
Keyshia Cole
Katy Perry
LeToya Luckett
Missy Elliott
JoJo
Amerie
Tamia
Lauryn Hill
Goapele
LeAnn Rimes
Nicki Minaj
Lil Kim
John Legend
Jordin Sparks
Ashanti
Tamyra Gray
Katherine McPhee
Ne-Yo
Babyface
Charice
Faith Evans
Kelly Price
Fergie
Lauryn Hill
India.Arie
Claude Kelly
Leona Lewis
Queen Latifah
Solange
....

It's so hard packing so many singers and musicians who have been influenced by Whitney into one 6-min video. Spent the whole day compiling this! Hope I didn't leave anyone important out.
