I notice that some people are giving slack to stars who haven't said anything yet or haven't released any statements, but I would like to remember you all that Whitney herself also wasn't talking about Michael for instance right after he died. Later on she talked about him on Oprah.

Right! That's why I haven't said anything about Madonna. We do know she has never said anything bad about Whitney and she does respect her. But she does have a history of making things all about herself.

What I find hard to understand is that people who I've always thought adored or even idolized Whitney didn't seem to be affected by her death. I just can't understand Kelly. How can she be happily making smoothies during her funeral and then have a great day at Disney World? Just weird to me. I don't understand that at all.

Exactly! It is rather the people who are active and are out and about, who have said nothing that bothers me. For those who are completely quiet, I am not so worried cos we dont know what goes on behind the scenes. I try to understand that people grieve or show their sentiments differently cos we truly dont know what goes on in peoples' hearts. Conversely however, we have those who have spoken and you think...............um ok.. So in actual fact, speaking or not speaking could be read differently.

You guys, if we have learned anything from closely watching Whitney, it's that we shouldn't judge artists for things that we don't really know. They're human. Like Whitney. They don't owe Whitney or us for that matter to speak out in whatever way. Let's try to be better persons ourselves...

Incorrect. Whitney was one of the first to release a one line statement: "My heart is full of greive"... Look it up, it's on this board archives...

A 1-sentence or a tweet is sufficient...

Thanks for that! I still believe the silence from a certain handful of folks is deafening especially when they made statements in the past for others who passed away. Not judging anybody just stating my opinion on this.

I said the same thing on the last page Tiger she may have not given an interview about it but she did immediately release a statement.

My biggest concern is the ones who are choosing to speak out negatively or whose behavior suggests disrespect, case in point: Bill O'Reilly

One day his ego and his show are gonna crash down burning, I expect his career to end with a scandal, and I hope I will be there to witness it and laugh my behind of.

Chris Cornell does a soft rock tribute to Whitney. It amazes me the heaps and heaps of artists whom I thought were not necessarily influenced by her due to different genres, but I guess this proves that she is the singer's singer.

Jordin Sparks On Whitney Houston: 'She Was An Incredible Woman'

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Jordin Sparks attends the 5th Annual ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon in Beverly Hills on February 23, 2012 Caption Jordin Sparks attends the 5th Annual ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon in Beverly Hills on February 23, 2012 Jordin Sparks paid tribute to her “Sparkle” co-star, the late Whitney Houston, at the 5th Annual ESSENCE Black Women In Hollywood Luncheon on Thursday, and she told Access Hollywood she had a few nerves before her performance.

“I don’t know how I’m gonna do in there. We’ll see,” Jordin told Access Hollywood on the red carpet before the event. “We’ll see what happens. If I choke up…

“I’ll get it together,” she continued. “Have to try and keep it in.”

Jordin’s “Sparkle” performance at the ESSENCE event was a long time in the works, but following Whitney’s death earlier this month, it turned into a tribute for the late superstar.

“I was already going to do it and sing a song from the movie and everything like that and then all recent events happened, and now I’m going to be singing a song that she actually sang, but is also in the movie, from the original, it’s called ‘Look Into Your Heart,’” Jordin explained to Access. “She was a part of the Curtis Mayfield tribute album. She actually sang [an] amazing version, so I’m going to do my own little version too.”

Looking back on her time with Whitney, Jordin admitted to being a little emotional as Thursday rolled around.

“It definitely makes me very emotional,” she told Access. “I looked up to her and I sang her songs and then all of a sudden I was in a movie with her and I got to see her face-to-face, and she was so kind and she was so sweet.

“She was an incredible woman and I was very, very blessed to get to know her for the short time that I did, but she was incredible,” Jordin added.

And the former “American Idol” winner is hoping to keep Whitney’s memory alive with the release later this year of “Sparkle.”

“It gives me a lot of excitement to be able to put this movie out because it was her baby, and she was so, so into it and so happy to be doing it,” Jordin told Access. “I’m excited that I get to be a part of it.”

“Sparkle” will hit theaters on August 17, 2012.

For Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson’s exclusive sit down interview with Jordin backstage at the ESSENCE event, tune into Access Hollywood on Friday.
