Mariah just posted a favorites moments with Whitney video on her youtube channel:

That made me sad again. The influence Whitney had on Mariah is undeniable. That's why they were compared, because Whitney paved the way. It's great that they recorded 'When You Believe' because then they got to know each other and move beyond rivalry.
Oh God! I can`t believe this video!!! This kind of "situation" shows how people are, we could see Mariah`s attitude  and also Aretha and Madonna's....

Did I miss the memo? I think the video is so touching and I think its beautiful that she would post this.
Hey! I love Mariah's video! It seems I did not express myself correctly. I just wanted to emphysize Mariah's attitude, and make a difference with Aretha and Madonna. Mariah really surprised me, I love what she has been doing since Whitney passed. On the other hand, I am badly surprised with Aretha, I had never imagined she would t attend Whitney`s funeral and perform anyway during the night....

Sorry I meant to reply that I understood! And once you said it I realized it was just that there was no punctuation to really separate the thoughts.

Mariah pleasantly surprised me.... Aretha didn't surprise me at all, I would have expected nothing less of the Queen B

The special that aired on BET this weekend can be seen on the website. Faith, Kelly and Kim made me cry. Also the story from the girls from the IEW video, I never knew Whitney did that :crying:

http://www.bet.com/v...ey-houston.html

'why are you crying'?......'because you love me'. :crying: Kim just does it for me everytime!

And trust cheeky Kym Whitley to make me chuckle at her comment. Its also a pity that they cant rectify that Dionne is her cousin and not her aunt.

Thanks for this. :)

Pfff... I'm a mess right now... cried my eyes out during this. What a loss... what a loss...

At times it pains me to see Whitney's pictures and videos.

:crying:

I notice that some people are giving slack to stars who haven't said anything yet or haven't released any statements, but I would like to remember you all that Whitney herself also wasn't talking about Michael for instance right after he died. Later on she talked about him on Oprah.

Actually that's not entirely true, she didn't publically talk about his passing but she did release a statement the very next day...

Whitney Houston said it was "hard to express in words" what Jackson meant to her.

"He was my friend," the pop diva said. "He was one of the reasons I got into the music business. He inspired me. He taught me. He laughed with me. He paved the way for African American artists to be played on MTV which was huge.

"My heart is full of grief for his family and his children and I pray that they take solace in the incredible legacy of his music and art."

My biggest concern is the ones who are choosing to speak out negatively or whose behavior suggests disrespect, case in point: Bill O'Reilly

Right! That's why I haven't said anything about Madonna. We do know she has never said anything bad about Whitney and she does respect her. But she does have a history of making things all about herself.

What I find hard to understand is that people who I've always thought adored or even idolized Whitney didn't seem to be affected by her death. I just can't understand Kelly. How can she be happily making smoothies during her funeral and then have a great day at Disney World? Just weird to me. I don't understand that at all.

I just don't hear much Whitney in Kelly as an artist. Never did. Of course Whitney paved the way & influenced her along with the other singers who emerged after Whitney. But I never thought Kelly especially admired her. Kelly's singing never touched me emotionally even when she tries to sound bluesy or soulful. Just my impressions. Her silence doesn't affect me at all. Not hating on her just stating.

i'm a little surprised with adele not saying anything..i have major respect for her and i love her music and all, but it seems wrong..she spoke about whitney being her inspiration on numerous occasions..the woman took 6 grammys that night and nothing..not a tweet, not a mention in her blog..she dedicated one whole blog to etta james when she passed and all i could find this time around was: "The night itself was so amazing, I met so many incredible people and everyone we’ve lost this year were on our minds and in our hearts and it was lovely to remember them all together as fans and friends."

i apologize in advance if she did release a statement and i missed it..
