I just figured the other thread is too big, and you know about the whole server issue, so let's not post in that one anymore. Let's post in this one.

What server issue?

Well I just posted in the other thread about how high was her plane in the air before "it" happened. I've heard some say that it never really made it off the ground.

I wonder where that sole survivor was sitting and how he survived and everyone else didn't. I hope he lives. I can imagine that he'd be in critical condition.

Due to server problems, we can allow threads to get but so big.

It has been reported repeatedly that he is.

I cannot believe that Aaliyah is no longer with us. When my sister told me the news this morning I thought it was some sort of sick joke, but it's not.
I simply do not know what to say.
Her music was innovating and I really liked her music. It is very tragic that such a young, talented girl had to go like this. Like someone said here on the board, the song Gone Too Soon comes to mind.
Damn, I do not have words for this. It feels weird when I see her face on tv.

Here's more news on the people who were on the plane:

"Bahamian police Superintendent Basil Rahming said the other passengers killed included Scott Gallin, 41; Keith Wallace, 49, of Los Angeles; Douglas Kratz, 28, a representative for Virgin Records, and Eric Foreman, 29, both of Hollywood, Calif.; Gina Smith, 29, of New Jersey; and Christopher Maldonado, 32, of New York. The plane's pilot, identified only as L. Marael, also died."

I woke up 10 minutes ago just to see the clock outside my room (it was 9:15) and my brother told me someone died and too go on my computer. Telling me it was some arist on the table in my room I only saw Lil Mo and Aaliyah and he knows how I ADORE Aaliyah so I went in a fit and got on mtv.com.
I am seriously sitting here crying my eyes out! Other than Whiteny and Bjork AA;iyah was my favorite entertainer. She came out with the Best R&B album this year and was deveolpoing an excellent career. I still can't believe it I just can't believe it!!! IT's not fair!!!!! She was gone too quick! She was the one singer I ADORED, I loved her personality, her attitude her style, and her music she had it down for the young audiences. I will always miss her and I am extremely hurt that what could've came after "Aaliyah" will be unknown (movie roles, more albums).

LAST EDITED ON 26-08-01 AT 10:19 AM (EST)[p]You know what is funny? SERIOUSLY I thought of Selena Friday and pulled out her "Dreaming Of You" album remembering how silly of me it was to cry in the end of her movie but how the album was so incredible cause Selena had such an incredible career for her and how that career could only come close with music videos of archived footage (I Could Fall In Love) of Selena. I WILL BE DEVASTATED if the sleazebags geta final copy of Rock Da Boat and use it and/or they make videos by putting archived footage of Aaliyah in them. THEY BETTER not do that. It is terrible the way EVERY person here loved Aaliyah and it was just a coinicidence that she was killed; it hurts so bad. My coinicidence was that I started getting used to the Selena album after not listening to it for well over a 1 1/2 years. Also my favorite album of the year was AAliyah's but before that one it was Kirsty Maccoll's Tropical Brainstorm; a singer killed 1 week before Christmas in Mexico when a man went in "Swimming Only" areas and ran over her with a speedboat. It is too coincidental that my 2 favorite albums this year are by two artists who died before their real prime! But I still am not in admittance and refuse to have her career end at the release of the "Aaliyah" album. What can I do? It's so hard to let it all go that the one singer I ADORED dies on a plane crash where the odds are 1 in (what?) 6,000,000? I don't know what I am going to do..........

This is depressing. Christopher Maldonado is a well known make up artist who's worked with everybody in the business so I can imagine industry people will be mourning his loss as well. That guy Eric Foreman's name is familiar. I think he's Aaliyah's stylist or somebody in her camp.

There are so many coincidences to Aaliyah. On July 19th I was waiting to get home to Daytona from Sacremento California. We had rought flights on the way too that helped push my fear of flying to MAXIMUM heights. At the news stand in Sacremento there was the Vibe Magazine issue with Aaliyah on the cover. I read the magazine once on the plane and it turns out the captain says at the beginning of taxy-ing "We are sorry but the plane must return because of engine starter failure" and when we finally got back I continued reading the interview over and over again and once the plane took off I was so nervous that I cried (the only times I Cry are when I feel my life is in danger or when someone dies) but I continued to read the Vibe MAgazine and think that once I get home Aaliyah's album will be at my doorstep. After that the connecting flight from Dallas to Jacksonville was missed so we left late at night (Which got me very nervous) but at the Dallas airport there was a Rolling Stone magazine with my favorite band on the cover (RadioheaD) and Aaliyah was headlined on it meaning the review I read (excellent; they named it one of if not THE best R&B album of the year) many times but on the flight I read it 20 times so I could get over my fear of the turbulence and the thought of the plane crashing. I owe it to Aaliyah for making me feel safe then and it hurts me to know what has happenned to her. I remember last night from 9:45-10:15 I was the spa my family has trying to bring the Aaliyah CD And my boombox out but there was no plug so I got pi--ed and thought "Wouldn't it be cool to listen to U Got Nerve" or "We Need a Resolution" now? Thrusday I was at the pool where there are speakers for A CD player that holds 6 CD's. I put "One In A Million" and "Aaliyah" in them and pushed the Random button so I could hear any song from the 2 as a suprise. I remember swimming and singing to parts of songs like "The One I Gave My Heart To", "One In A Million", "If Your Girl Only Knew", and "Ladies In Da House" there were some "aaliyah" tracks too. When I got out of the pool I folded my hands and said "please play Got To Give It Up" (my fav. song off of One In A Million) and it did! I was so amazed and happy! Once that song was over I did the same thing saying "PLease play I Refuse...nah it won't work" (my fav. song off of her new album) and it did! I was such a HUGE fan of Aaliyah these past weeks that it kills me to know she has past. I just hope

1)No more videos from the album (singles-yes)
2)No comparing to "ghetto" deaths like Notorious B.I.G. or 2pac
3)The music industry will notice Aaliyah's class and maturity and try to make it carry on.

Well there was one completed video..."More Than A Woman" I believe. And she was in the bahamas completing "Rock the Boat".

I adamantly oppose that. Rock the Boat is complete, and I'd like them to use footage to make her other videos. At least I can see her that way.

Eric Foreman was her stylist I do believe.

Oh My GOD! I ust found out. I was riding back from church with my friend, and I was commenting on how they are playing a lot of Aaliyah songs today. We were joking and said it must be her birthday. Then about a minute later, myf eidn calls me on my cell and tells me the news. Man, I was surpised. it is just a shame. I actaully liedk Aaliyah. She seemed very friendly and down to earth, and she was on her way to becoming a mega star with these movies and tight songs on the radio. What a shame.
