Yesterday several TV magazine reported on why Mariah Carey singles didnt receive much airplay on the radio.
It was reported that Tommy Boy is trying to sabatage Mariah Career. It seems the he is the reason why Mariah Carey single isn't receiving much airplay. In addition he has been linked to creating the rumors of tension between Janet and Mariah. Mariah and Virgin records had hired a private investigator to validate all of these claims. And to some point, most of their suspicions are true. Many radio station across the United States confirmed there suspicions.
Other news...Mariah Carey album has also been delayed.

Could you be refering to Tommy Motolla, Mariah's ex? Tommy Boy is a record label. And I can't see why they'd want to hurt Mariah. Is Tommy Boy still in existence?

Yeah, LOL! I think he means Tommy Matola and not Tommy Boy Records. But I doubt either Tommy is behind any of this. What could Sony possibly do to make radio stations stop playing her song? If folk really liked her song they would request it. It's as simple as that. Smeckles, where did you get your info? Magazines, which ones? What...did Tommy PAY radio stations NOT to play her song? Maybe some jaded MC fan started this rumor.

DAMN! The album was moved back to September 11! This must be a pretty good soundtrack if they have to release it then to coincide the movie's release. Cause obviously Virgin thinks many people will buy this album cause of how they saw the movie.

I read in the USA Today that Mariah has acknowledged that Tommy tried to diminish her prospects by pushing the Bootylicious date back and then matching her single's discount. We all could see through that though. I could imagine why he'd want to hurt her. She has dogged him in interviews and she said until now fools have kept her out of movies in a recent one, and I remember her blaming him for that before so I knew who she was talking about, even though she refused to say just who kept her out in the more recent interview. Her role in Glitter supposedly brought some people in a private viewing to tears at the end. I'm assuming this chick dies due to the lyrics of one of Mariah's songs that were posted on CW.

Maybe the lesson to be learned was that artists MUST plan their single releases around Mariah Carey's to INSURE ALL her singles take their rightful position at number one because she is Mariah Carey. PUHLEAZE. Totally illogical! That's show biz. Music is a market, and in a market you have competition. You will have more success with some things than others.

It was a Television Magazine type show called Extra.
They did a thing on Whitney about Bobby being rushed to the hospital and about her brother being arrested. And then they followed it with the Story about Mariah and Tommy Mattola. Not Tommy Records...lol...!
It was also reported in the USA Today. And on the College news channel at Rutgers Newark...
