I might be wrong but I believe baby face & Patti are so torn up they can't speak at the moment.

Agreed John. Here's a brief but very thoughtful words re: Whit, expressed to host Lonnie, via his personal conversation w Patti:

And Enrique Iglesias:

Enrique says "48 years is far too young for her to pass [...] I believe when these situations happen where the reasons are yet to be determined the best thing to do is to reserve opinions. However, I have prayed for her and her family and it was a GREAT honor to have worked with her!"

Babyface was actually in concert the day of Whitney's passing. Someone posted his "Exhale" tribute of her earlier in this thread or another thread:

Here it is:

I assume he said some words about Whitney before the performance because afterwards he starts talking about him falling in love, etc...

Mariah Carey

"I'm almost incapable of talking about this still. I think we all are. It's very heavy emotionally especially just looking at that little bit of us together. But it was great. I don't think people could ever understand our relationship. There was always this supposed rivalry in the beginning and then we did the duet and we became friend. I saw her towards her end. I loved her. We all loved her, we all were inspired by her, and we all loved her. May she rest in peace and her legend's gonna go on forever. [The homegoing] was gorgeous. Such a class act. Just the way she went out and the way her family dealt with it. I was very moved and it was beautiful."

That look when she finishes her comments on the homegoing shows real hurt. And then what's happening to Nick. Must be a tough time for her....

Love is what we make it
We can make it something lovely
So don't desert me
Instead, learn to trust me
And love is what we make it
So let's make it, love

Wow, I don't know when I've seen Mariah be this geniune or heartfelt about any other artist EVER in any way. I am definitely viewing her differently now. You can really see that Whitney meant a lot to her.

I've always felt Mariah was a genuinely sweet person...which has made her very likable to me. People look too much into how she dresses and behaves on the outside lol

i really didn't think they were close..i guess it's because of years of battles between hers and whitney's fans over who is the ultimate diva kind of cast a shadow over the fact that they were friends..you can see she's having a tough time, i have a feeling if she was asked another question, she would have cried..

thank you, mariah

Wow.

And I love that era. Vocally, Whitney was a beast. Looks-wise, drop dead gorgeous especially with that brown dress. Though I must admit I always thought that picture of them together at 1:21 made them look like lesbian lovers lol.
