Here's Tevin Campbell obviously imitating Whitney's LIVE renditions of her classic GLOA. It was cleary a VERY BAD VOCAL night for Tevin and he must've been battling a sore throat or some other ailment to his vocals because he is a remarkable vocalist in his own right both back then and to this present day (as I've heard him sing recently). I always thought Whitney was a huge influence on his vocal styling as well as his stage persona and this performance was just one more bit of evidence of that fact.

I loved this!! Yeah, he definitely wasn't on top of his game this night, but it still sounds damn good. And the end is a straight up note-for-note attempt at Whitney's version at the 1990 Arista Anniversary.

He had vocal problems in the above performance.

Listen to him sing this. One of my favorite variations of "O' Holy Night" (Besides Ms. Whitney's--lol)

I have always said that Tevin was not only influenced by Whitney vocally, but even his stage presence, early in his career was very Whitney-like.
