Nice to read so many posts in here... Even got to know some new stuff about some vets that I've known for years...

So, I'm Zolas, or Bart if you will. 29 y/o and from the most post-modern nation in the world: The Netherlands. I became a fan after TBG. I had the songs on cassette and played them over and over. Later, my parents bought me and my sister a cd player and my sis bought the first two albums so I enjoyed them with her. I remember seeing the South Africa concert on tv and I was just mesmerized by this beautiful woman with her beautiful voice and her beautiful gowns. I think I really became a fan that day. My first cd single was Exhale (shoop shoop) and every release since was a highlight. I have memories of buying all the new releases (except JW, don't exactly remember that one. Might have bought it online).

...

Ha! Going through some old emails I found one that I sent to one of our (then active) members here.

Today I was doing some shopping, bought a new coat and
what did I see? Just Whitney!! The Limited edition,
including the DVD! And although I already ordered it
on the net, I couldn't resist to buy it :) It looked
really beautiful, with a cardboard cover around the
album. It's a bit shiny with the JW-photo-shoot where
she sits on the ground, with a big smile. At the back
the cover of the original album, and it says JUST FOR
THE FANS :) Inside the booklet 3 pics of the
WULA-shoot. And included is a leaf with the
albumcovers of TBG, IYBT, MLIYL, PW, W and WH: "other
unmissable albums from WHITNEY HOUSTON", "for more
information go to www.rnb-allstars.com". Unfortunately
I'm not able (yet) to view the DVD, but as you know it
includes the WULA-vid, the making of it and the Love
to infinity megamix vid.

Hopefully you'll receive your copy shortly!

Dated November 24th, 2002. Still not sure where I bought it, must have been in Tilburg or Eindhoven or so... anyway, nice to find. I do remember writing this email...

It's nice to meet everybody. I am Joleen but my friends calls me Jo. You can find me on twitter @bombshell2nite... ;) A little about me. Well I am 33 years old and from Houston Texas. I have an obsession with music and film from the 80's and 90's so I really don't pay that much attention to today's pop culture. So yeah I am old school Jo! I admire a lot of artists and singers but Whitney was one of the only voices who reached my souls core. You can listen to a song and enjoy it, but when she would sing I couldn't be distracted by anything else but her. Although never an active fan online, I grew up on her music and one of my first cassette tapes was her album "Whitney." I use to dance around to that album in my pink walled room!

So I just want to say that with Whitney gone I feel this emptiness inside so it's really nice to have a place to go to where others understand what I'm going through as a fan.

Hi ALL! Welcome to the Newbies! Much love as always to the Oldies!

My sn is my childhood family nickname. I consider anyone who calls me John-John family or friend and that's the feeling I got when I first discovered this site and met fellow true fans who totally get why I love Whitney as an Artist, Icon, and Human Being.

I'm a 30-something guy somewhere in SC who became a fan based upon Her live performances in the early 90s: WHH on HBO, the This Is My Life ABC special, & GLOA at Ali's 50th Birthday hooked me for life. My 7 yo son "3J" is the next W-F generation. Lol!

Personal stuff: completing Education/career transition w/ PT jobs in old/new fields while job mkt recovers (?). I'm also a published writer of poetry, flash fiction, and short stories & making final edits to my first novel.

How I got here: I joined originally sometime in the 90s... It was after TPW but way before the MLIYL era. I do remember this was the first web board of any type I joined with my first, woefully-slow PC after installing its 56k modem board. It was the loudest modem I (and my roommates) ever heard. I loved it then & love it even more now. I have so much respect for Lisa and Rachel, the Mod squad, & the rest of the Fan Family here! Now more than ever before!

Looking forward to meeting everyone eventually!!! Feel free to pvt MSG me or send an email.

Pace et amor,
John-John

Hello everyone, my name is Samantha. I'm new to this forum, so im kinda slow at getting around.
I'm 24 years old and live in Lapeer, Michigan. Currently, I am enrolled in college and helping my family out, so i may take a while to respond. I have been a Whitney fan since i can remember. From those good days when my father would be at work and my mother would take me and my brother to my grandma's house, she would turn on the radio and always ask us who the singers were. I remember that she asked me that one day, and i yelled out Whitney!!! And a car next to us who was stopped at a light looked at me in the back seat, smiled, then turned on the same station. The song on the radio was IWDWS and while at the sto

Nice to meet you. I'll be turning 24 in the coming months, and I'm also from Michigan. Nice to have some other people on here from Michigan, there's a few that I know of.

Ok, well....
At 5'3 I can NOT do the infamous bow, never gonna happen, tried it once and damn near broke myself, LOL. Can't sing a note in key to save my life
but it doesn't stop me - much to my childrens horror. I have the greatest kids in the world! And my home is crazy, LOL there is much humor, silliness and
laughter and a whole lot of love.
I have been a Whitney fan since 1983, I saw her on tv and that was it- I can't explain it. I don't know, how do you explain Whitney, what she does to a soul?
I don't know the words for that. It was my daughter who told me the news on 2/11. All of us were playing cards (spoons, have you ever played it? At our house
you may lose a limb going for a spoon, LOL) anyway my daughter checked her facebook thing and looked at me and said ' oh mommy, I'm so sorry. I know how
much Whitney means to you.' Game was over right then and there, I tell you I was a mess, still have my moments.
I enjoy hanging out here at Whitney - fan with others who share the love of Whitney and just understand what words can't explain.
Much love to you all.

Actually very fun to read. Im Eric, Ive been a Whitney Fan since I was 7.. so basically 20yrs now. Been posting here and there on the Whitney Fan site since about 2004. I was first introucded to Whitney when watching the bodyguard for the first time. I must say it was quite funny because I thought the characters ppl played was their real names. So when my parents told me Whitney Houston was in it, I had a WHOLE different Whitney in mind. (I was 7 so it was ok lol). But I fell in love with her from that momemt on. Every chance I got I read, listened, follwed as much as I could. Sadly I never got my one wish in life was to meet her in person. I said to myself my life wouldnt be complete until I met Whitney Houston to tell her how much I loved her.
For Christmas one year my dad asked me what I wanted for Christmas, and I remember going to the store and bought all Whitneys Albums. Which was very difficult to do in my house because we were ONLY allowed to listen to Gospel Music growing up. But my parents made an exception to Whitney (which made my sisters really angry). I found great joy and strength in her music. My favorite Whitney album hands down is Just Whitney. I feel she made that album just for me. The number one song for me was Tell me No... gave me great inspiration at a very difficult time in my life when I was getting a lot of nooo's but through the song I found strength to show anyone who told me no, that I can. And I just love love love love love You light of up my life.
I miss this woman so much, although I never got to meet her (which I thought would make it SOOOO much easier to heal) but its EXTREMLY difficult. As I used to find much strength through her much, its harder now because Im sad and I'll try to listen to one of her songs, and then I get sad that way because I start to grieve again.
I love the creator of this site, there were many times I was alone in my love for Whitney and to find out that there are SOOOOOO many people who love her, if not MORE is just too freaking cool to be true.
Much Love to you all....
