What has Patti LaBelle said?

I can't find it right now but she released a statement, yall Patti is truly heartbroken...I read the tweet a few days ago, she was another who was very protective of and fought for Whitney. I remember seeing her countless times defending her and calling her the 8th wonder of the world, even last year when folks had written Whitney off, Patti was still willing to cut a BLEEP over Whitney

I'm pretty sure Patti is devastated. She keeps losing all her babies. But Whitney whooo that woman had a huge place in her heart for Whitney

exactly, I remember a special she was on bravo last year and they asked about Whitney's voice & Kandi commented about and the look Patti gave her, it was like Patti wanted to smack the BLEEP out of her and then she went right into defending her & just being that motherly figure that Patti is known for being esp toward Whitney.

While not a "celebrity" tribute, it's definitely a thoughtful one all the same. From the Philippines:

Love is what we make it
We can make it something lovely
So don't desert me
Instead, learn to trust me
And love is what we make it
So let's make it, love

I've always told family here: Kevin loved himself some Whitney. I truly believe he was crushing on her big time which led him to want her so much in TBG. But it became a deep platonic respectful protective type relationship in the years to follow.

I have NEVER once heard him say an unkind word regarding her. And I just know he's hurting as a friend, fan, & peer. I respect him for grieving privately and the fact he sent flowers to Krissi in the immediate hrs after her passing confirms what I thought.

Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind. ~Dr. Seuss

Have you or anyone heard anything from Denzel Washington? Thanks.

Wow, how difficult must it be for her to wake up every day and see Whitney on her wall.

John Legend Remembers Whitney Houston
'We really lost one of the greatest singers we'll ever hear'

I first heard Whitney as a young child on her debut album. I knew "Saving All My Love" and "I Wanna Dance With Somebody." I knew as a kid who loved music and particularly loved singing that she was one of the best singers I knew of at the time. Her voice was so pure and powerful. She had so much control and range and expressive ability. She was amazing.

I was so sad when I heard she passed. I was sad for her family. I was sad for Clive [Davis], because I know he took so much pride in his efforts to help her come back. And I was sad for the fans and the music community because we really lost one of the greatest singers we'll ever hear. She was that good.

I've had family members go through problems with addiction and struggle to come back. You always hope they will pull through and come out healthy on the other side. In the past couple years, we got the sense that Whitney was doing better and may be able to return to good health and success. It's so tragic that it had to end this way. But the beautiful thing about music is it never dies. We'll always have Whitney because we'll always have her beautiful music.

As told to Rolling Stone
If tomorrow is judgment day ...
And the Lord asks me what I did with my life,
I will say I spent it with you.

Lovely! Makes me think Whitney needs her own monument somewhere, maybe in Jersey or someplace. I'd donate money for it too.

Lorretta Devine:
"I am overwhelmed. I cannot wrap my mind around this. I missed the chance to see her at a party this past Thursday and when we spoke last she had just finished 'Sparkle' and she told me how excited she was to start production on 'Waiting to Exhale 2' with Angela, Lela and myself," Devine said. "My prayers go out to her family and I am so honored for the time I spent working with her on 'Waiting to Exhale,' 'The Preacher's Wife' and on 'Boston Public.' I love you, Whitney, and I will miss your easy laugh."

MUST WATCH: Charlie Rose Interview - Jon Pareles of "The New York Times" & Danyel Smith, Editor of Billboard magazine on Whitney Houston
http://www.charliero...interview/12154

Absolutely the best piece I've ever seen so far, probably the best tribute to Whitney as a vocalist. This is real journalism. About the voice, and nothing else.

Clive Davis: "Whitney Houston is an incredible talent. Putting Aretha Franklin to one side, for she is a national treasure, Whitney Houston is the the best singer in the world today. If you ask any musician today, if you ask Babyface, if you ask David Foster, if you ask Quincy Jones, the absolute best singer in the world today is Whitney Houston. She has a combination of soul, fire and lyric and stunning beauty, an ability to caress a ballad and soar with it, an ability to take the stage and have people dancing all over the world.

Not a tribute but worth posting b/c I for one was wondering what was the little piece paper that Whitney handed to Brandy.

Brandy: I'll never reveal the contents of Whitney's final note
