This is a long piece, but it's really worth reading. It makes one of the best cases I've read about how music artists are being robbed, and that it's up to fans to do something about it.

Thanks for sharing Lisa.

Hehe, I spend a lot on music, too much maybe  And I am grateful to the artists who make music, the food for my soul. I have no problem in supporting them financially by paying for it (although I always seek bargains and rarely pay the highest price).

My life is better because of them.

Lisa,

I read Lowery's piece last week and it is indeed worth reading/digesting from beginning to end. Much of his plea to Emily (her generation and the greater "Free Culture" movement), I've been trying to share and articulate with similar-minded folk (esp. those who are deluded into thinking there is ANY real money being generated in this era of music - for anyone) for YEARS now. This is why even your top-tier artists (many of whom also write/co-write their own work) are busting their rears, shilling every silly product known to man, to compensate for the glaring lack of cash flow they once enjoyed from their albums and, by extension, their labels.
