This year’s stellar line-up includes the very best that gospel and secular music has to offer with performances by Gospel greats Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams, Pastor Shirley Caesar, Fred Hammond, Marvin Sapp, The Rance Allen Group, James Fortune & FIYA, 2012 Grammy-award winner Le’Andria Johnson, Jessica Reedy, Earnest Pugh, Isaac Carree, Moses Tyson Jr. Ricky Dillard & New G, Zacardi Cortez and Maurette Brown-Clark plus a special appearance by BET Music Matters artist Mali Music as well as secular artists Grammy and Tony Award-winner Jennifer Holliday, as well R&B sensations Faith Evans, Johnny Gill, Ledisi and Kelly Price. In addition to musical performances, Dr. Bobby Jones, of BET‘s long-running gospel show BOBBY JONES GOSPEL and actress Wendy Raquel Robinson of the ratings juggernaut THE GAME will deliver moving spoken word selections.
Additionally, two moving tributes are planned in recognition of the life and legacy of the “Mother of Gospel Music,” four-time Grammy-award winner, civil rights activist, and vocal powerhouse Mahalia Jackson and to honor the memory of legendary entertainer, Whitney Houston, whose singing gift was anchored in her gospel roots.
Tickets to attend the taping are free to the public on a first-come, first-service basis by submitting a request via betrsvp@bet.net.

they'll probably have Yolanda do it I would assume as the show tapes next week, IDK if Kim is available, I actually would like CeCe to do it, but I don't if she could

Love is what we make it
We can make it something lovely
So don't desert me
Instead, learn to trust me
And love is what we make it
So let's make it, love

BET’s ‘Celebration of Gospel’ is set to make its roaring return to the station on April 1st. The 12th annual edition of the Steve Harvey-hosted affair is set to get viewers moving with an all-star line-up of today’s gospel hitmakers including performances from Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams, Marvin Sapp, Fred Hammond, Sunday’s Best/Grammy winner Le’Andria Johnson, and many more.
Also, in its yearly tradition, the praise session also invites the best of R&B and other secular genres to partake in the festivities. This year’s secular lineup includes Jennifer Holliday, Faith Evans, Kelly Price, and Ledisi. The foursome is believed to be readying a tribute honoring the gospel contributions of pop icon Whitney Houston. The late singer made her last televised performance at the event last year, belting out her hit ‘I Look To You’ with friend/gospel singer Kim Burrell.
Finally, Mahalia Jackson, whose biography ‘Got to Tell It: Mahalia Jackson, Queen of Gospel’ is set to be adapted to film starring gospel/R&B regular Fantasia, will also be recognized for her ever present contributions to the genre as well.
Faithful fans of the event, being shot March 16th at the Los Angeles Orpheum Theatre, can see all the action when it hits screens only on BET, April 1st at 8pm.
