"Was my life not enough of a cautionary tale for you?"
"Why would the Lord give me this gift if I wasn't supposed to use it?"
"I always knew you had the gift. It makes me feel I've done something right. Don't lose it."

You can see a bit of Whitney in different characters - the motherly love and strength in Emma's character, her youth, spirit and talent in Sparkle's character, and of course tragic loss and struggle with addiction in Sister's character. The movie almost seems like an autobiographical tale about Whitney's life.

That's what i'm wondering. It seems as if the woman who's life seemed to be scripted by destiny is indeed making her final courtain call sending a message of her own life before she bowed out.

I don't know how to feel. I know this, I will support this sparkle era with pride even if it brings tears and pain to have that moment of joy. That's for sure.

WOAH. That was powerful. That made me step back.

That "WHAT ya'll doing in there!?!" Sounded all too familiar!!! And the way she was walking when she said it!! She def captured that stern mother role! I can't wait to see the whole movie! And she sounded great!!

After my last post I kept thinking and trying to reason all of this in my mind rather than cry and it dawned on me watching the trailer again that this may indeed be the closure we as fans will want. If Whitney really delivers the way this trailer potrays it Whitney's legacy may just be recapped in her final production. Everyone keeps saying the message of her legacy is yet to be heard; and I'm wondering if it is indeed Sparkle that tells the story through film. All the signs from the trailer point to that. Some of Whitney's lines are a bit haunting and her face watching "herself" is beyond acting. It's as if she channeled her own emotion. Her eyes! Yikes! Too real! Put a knife in my heart :( But overall a smile on my face.

I'm in with what Conclue said. The way this trailer is looking, it looks as it really is the closure we need, or I need anyway. The lines she said, the looks on her face, the way she is channeling her emotion. It's like she was meant to do this film. This being her final production and it having this feeling and Whitney giving those haunting lines and expressions. This is going to hit hard but at the same time, I think it will provide me with closure.

I loved it.

Yes, it might be the closure in some way.

I too was thinking about the movie coming together at the time the way it did.

Thinking about how Whitney seemed to really enjoy making it.

I'm glad that we have this movie, that the world has this movie, and that Whitney got to have it too.

i don't know what to say..she looks so beautiful and the voice, both speaking and singing, is there..it really looks real, as if it's not acting, but the real thing..i'm telling you, she nailed this role! it wasn't a role to her, it was her life and i have a feeling she brought everything she had and gave it all to this movie..

what would i give to see her on the red carpet the opening night..this is the very definition of bittersweet..

Bittersweet, indeed. I will be crying for sure.
She really seemed to connect to the role.
I'm glad this was her final bow to the world, you can tell this was so close to heart.
I miss her :(
I know it's premature, but just seeing these few scenes, she better at least get a Golden Globe!!!
God, I just wish she was here to see the end result.

one more thing - this is the first time since Feb 11 that we got excited like so many times before, it really reminds me of the good old days..Whitney doing a project and we all being anxious to see just a glimpse of it, to get our hands on any kind of information..it makes me smile, it feels good..the record is not over yet!
