Personally for me, seeing the trailer gave me a form of closure. I've said it before, the movie will be that redemption to her. She's looking good, she was sounding great, and her acting appears so real it felt we were watching her real life.
Sometimes I wonder if Whitney saw a prophet at some point before her passing (for those religous Christians who know what Im talking about) and if that prophet told her something which was why she became very "saved" with her messages near the end?

I'm listening to her. Right now I'm spinning the "Whitney" CD, however I skip track 4 each and everytime. YSMM gave me waterworks but for the most part, it's great. LIstening to YSMM reminds you how there are Whitney songs that are not hits that are just as epic as the hits. Vocal tour de force on that record, lord have mercy.

I've been listening to "Whitney" almost non stop, I skip 4 and WDBHG every time too. I have been listening to the bonus tracks of "Whitney Houston too.
It's kind of funny in a way, really I prefer the later Whitney voice, it has so many more colors and layers and textures to it, powerful in a
different way - know what I mean? Anyway it's the early stuff I listen to at this point.... Maybe I have to go back to the beginning to be able
to listen to it all again. One day at a time I guess.

Does anybody have the full audio for Whitney's 2010 Nothing But Love Birmingham concert they could send me? It was linked in the Nothing But Love Tour Birmingham concert thread but because megaupload has been taken down I couldn't download it. In particular, I'm looking for a great quality audio of her performing A Song for You because the birmingham version was my favourite she sang on the tour and showcased her amazing headvoice and belting. Since Whitney's passing, something has been stopping me getting passed the anger period of grief and I've realised that it's the media's treatment of her during her final tour which, if I was her, it would have taken me a long time to get over the pain, and if I suffered with addiction, I'd have relapsed on the spot. I've not posted here in a while, but I attended her Glasgow concert on that 2010 tour and that night changed my life - changed me as a person. Filled me with love.
The reason I would love this audio sent to me is because I want to do something to help the world understand how evil the media are. I want to create a 15 minute video to showcase the media's lies (the guy on GMTV saying she failed to hit the "AND IIII" in birmingham when she did it so well (although the rest of the climax wasn't great), the bad review of her Berlin concert posted before the concert had even taken place etc) and there are great video clips of A Song for You on youtube that I could sync with the audio but I need a non-distorted version of the audio. If anyone can help me out, I'd appreciate you uploading the audio on another site so I can download it and include it. I've had a lot of experience with video editing so hopefully this video will turn out really well and won't just be another video of her best notes from the tour because there are already so many of them on youtube already. This really will be a video to not just fight against the media, but expose their lies and twisting. Sorry for not posting in a while and my first post back asking for a favour but seen as I've finished university for the summer and and still looking for a summer job, I have a lot of free time to do this.
God bless,
Ross.

You were at Glasgow? That was my favorite IWALY of the tour. She soilder through that BLEEP! like a real diva. Love that one! However in terms of divaness, Birmingham is my favorite IWALY. She was sooooo diva at the end. Only Whitney could serenade a mic like that at the end. :(

So I had to go pay my best buy bill and me and mom were out shopping. (been spending lots of time with her lately) I said to her "I just wanna see if they have a Whitney CD I don't have" and so I went to the section and of course it's fully BLEEP! stocked with every album BUT "Whitney" and "Whitney Houston" (didn't get that second one being out) but they had rows of IYBT, so I grabbed it because my physical one broke years ago (like BLEEP! 10 years ago). I got a mp3 version from a fan here on the board so I had it because I dont know why I'm not into ordering things online, I'm just not. Only if I *HAVE* to.

Anyhow, I opened up the IYBT album and got that feeling of "i'm gonna start crying". It was like that day I bought it for the first time in the mid 90's. That CD was the best one they made in terms of the graphic. My mom was like "oh my god is that NYC?" and I was like "yeah, complete with the towers"

It was sad, but I also talked BLEEP! on the way out not intentionally but just mad. I made a comment about "Glad I been looking for this CD in here for over 10 BLEEP! years but now that she's dead they're BLEEP! stocked" and my moms just like "okay, calm, be calm!!!" LOL

So - Lover For Life - Never was one of my favorites. There are some Whitney songs I don't particularly care for, but I don't skip Whitney songs except "MY LOVE" on JW. That's the only one I skip even though her vocals are tight. So anyhow I start singing along like it's a favorite of mine and the lyrics hit me so hard I just started crying. I had to hit the skip and go on to Anymore which just made me wanna BLEEP! Bobby up and then Mircale came on which just made me more sad....

.... it's like every single Whitney song is so damn scripted into her life it's RIDICULOUS to listen to her back catalog. Theres very few songs that are just platonic and have no real direct relationship to Whitney.

Mom and I had "Whitney" playing in the car today and when LWSTD was ending I skipped to SE. My mom was like "why did you skip that song? I love that one!" and I said "I do too, but that's the song that prolly made Whitney cry all the time, not listening to it because if I could cry for her just listening to it before she died, ain't nothing really changed" my Mom was like " I never thought of it like that ". DWAHIA is just too emotional.

Thanks for sharing this story. I still remember when you told the story about buying the Just Whitney CD ("Whatchulookinat?")!

It's true, listening to a lot of Whitney's songs, the lyrics suddenly have more meaning in relation to her life.

But what really gets to me now are the lyrics to 'A Song For You' . I know a true fan will get those lyrics:

"I love you in a place where there's no space or time.
I love you for my life
You are a friend of mine.
So when my life is over
Remember when we were together
We were alone and I was singing this song for you..."

I'm trying to listen to her more and more. And most songs I listen to, the lyrics are just so different and now have several different meanings. I remember when Larry came on here and mentioned Eternal Love. That song is still wayyyy tooo much!

Sometimes I still ask myself "Why is she not here? How could she have died?" But I don't let myself stay there. I'm to the point where I'm really trying to enjoy what she left. And let me tell you, when I thought she was stunningly beautiful before, watching her now, IDK it's weird how to me all of a sudden, she's even more beautiful than before and I didn't even think it was possible, there aint nobody on her level! And her humor, I'm watching some NBL videos and her humor is hilarious. I love hearing her talk. She left us a great deal and I really want to enjoy it. Of course this is me on a good day.

I miss her a lot today...I'm slowly realizing that she's really gone and there won't be any more new music after Sparkle...it's just so weird to think of her as not being alive anymore. Her music is so full of life...

I'm in this weird state where I listen to her music constantly, watch her performances and am online a lot looking at pics and watching videos. I have managed to avoid most of the tabloid/sensationalism stuff because these people are amateurs to me.

I don't really know how I feel anymore, but I do think about the "rock star" lifestyle. I think about MJ, Garland, Presley, Hendrix etc. I don't like to glamorise it or romanticise it, because I don't feel things should be this way, and I get angry at the way the world is, the way business and money and fame is etc. But I do think about parallels to the lives of people it has happened to in the business.

My 3 favourite singers/entertainers of all time have been Whitney Houston, Judy Garland and Michael Jackson. It's amazing how each of them died from a drug related death. Just goes to show the entertainment industry and the pressures put on the extra talent ones. RIP all 3. Judy at 47, Whitney at 48 and Michael at 50.

P.S. I would have also included Mariah but she hasn't sung a single song completely live in years and I can't stand her lambs saying "100% Live" when she obviously mimes all the high or belting parts from the CD version. I'd think if I were a real fan, I'd know when I hear the CD version instead of a live voice but I digress. Just saying, she's also up there with the greats (I'm a big fan of her work) and seems to have deep insecurities, also caused by being in the business? Which is why she probably finds it hard to accept that her voice isn't what it was and lip-syncs. I think we would have heard a few key changes on "I Look to You" album if Arista planned Whitney on lipping portions of her songs in live performances.

And again, if anybody has the complete audio of 2010 Birmingham concert, I'd appreciate you gifting me with it seen as megaupload has been taken down and is no longer available (and if anybody had Glasgow audio... ohhh to relive that again would really help me.)

All the best fans,
Ross :)

I have been in this state as well for the past couple of days nonstop when I get home and till I go to sleep. Im usually hit with this overwhelming gut feeling most times watching her live performances or seeing people in our same state of mind also write about their love for Whitney. Just gets me emotional.

This wknd made me smile because I found a black Whitney t-shirt with a pic from her at the Grammys singing her heart out. I was like YAAAAY because I wanted one bad like Monica the singer had been wearing but I'll take what I can get. I showed all of my fam and they knew I was one happy girl. My 19 yr old sister who usually shows no emotion but knows how much I love Whitney asked me "how are you holding up?'' I realized then my fam does not bring her up out of respect or what have you for me. They make sure I bring her up first and then they will elaborate or ask questions but not one disrespectful comment. I love them for that!!!!

That's great. Me too, my brother and father used to kind of lightly tease me about my Whitney fandom but since her death they haven't done anything like that because they know how much she means to me. I hadn't seen my brother for a couple of weeks after Whitney's death, but it was the first thing he asked me about when he saw me and he was completely respectful. He said how 48 was too young and asked me if I had been listening to her music much. And my mother talks a lot about how great she was.
