Watching 20/20 now on PST. It is amazing how supposedly reputable media outlets just repeat unsubstantiated BLEEP! from TMZ and other gutter rags without any hesitation. God, it is just crazy. Walter Cronkite must be rolling in his grave.

WOW YOLANDA!!!!!! JUST WOW!!!!!! And how she DEMANDED "GOOO!!!! To his throne GOO GO!!!!!" Now THAT is a tribute worth Whitney's name. Yolanda is one of the few that can capture an audience in the same manner as Whitney. Simply just standing there and l singing. And she called her Nip :)

Aretha on dateline: probably 1st time she's spoken of Whitney & not managed to cast the slightest shadow of shade. I actually respect the way Aretha handled the interview.

Yeah cuz now she see's that level of sucess just puts you in the grave at 50 years old and she's prolly not jealous anymore.

I'm still not happy she's singing tomorrow considering that BLEEP! has been throwing shade since day1 whiel Whitney went out of her way to throw her praises right through Sparkle too.

OMG! I am so glad someone else said it but I was not happy when I found out Aretha was singing at the funeral. I'd rather her not get anywhere near a microphone. Not only b/c of her attitude (I just don't like her b/c she comes off as so catty) but I just do not want to hear her shrill shrieking tomorrow which is all it will amount to be IMO. It cracks me up how everyone loved her now that she's gone. Just like Chaka was saying on CNN last Sunday morning "She was like a little sister to me" and yada yada yada. And when Carlos Daiz asked "Chaka, when's the last time you spoke to Whitney?" And Chaka had to think and I think she finally said "back in October" or whatever she said. Well geez, Chaka...for her to be your little sister you barely talked to her and now you claim to be devasated. And that's if she was telling the truth about "October". SMH The ONLY thing Chaka has said that I did agree with is that it was a travesty that they still had that party with Whitney's lifeless body still lying on the floor up in her hotel room. SMH I don't see how anyone who claimed they loved her went to that party but I guess they probably felt there would be a celebration of Whitney and maybe they wanted to be part of it. I just know I could not have gone to or stayed at the party. No way I would have been in a mood to party. If anyone is going to sing and pay tribute to Whitney it should be Kim Burrell and maybe CeCe Winans, who is supposed to sing 'Don't Cry For Me' with Bebe of course.

A friend and I said the very same thing this week. We both are amazed at how TMZ gets the scoop and appears to know every thing. We concluded that Harvey Levin, or whatever his name is, has some very deep pockets b/c he has to be paying bribes to the LA Police Department as well hospital employees, the coroner's office, or anyone privy to what should be private or confidential information. And I'm not just referring to Whitney's case. I'm talking about all the news about all celebrities that they report about. He must have an army of millions of reporters and photographers posted througout the United States b/c they don't miss anyting. Harvey has to be bribing people. And we both mentioned how all the so-called reputable news organizations and websites sites quote and credit TMZ for the information that they are reporting when they're supposed to be the source of reliable news. We concluded that they think it's easier to let TMZ do all the work and they just report whatever TMZ reports.

How did 20/20 get permission to use those horrible clips from BBB? I thought Whitney refused to give permission for those to be aired on TV again. Except for that and the repeated speculation and rumors at the very beginning, the 20/20 special was fair. Some inaccuracies, but the closest to reasonably fair of the shows so far.

The section about the SSB propelling Whitney from Star to Superstar was great. They really showed how Whitney took ownership of the National Anthem. There was a cute moment when the reporter said something to the person being interviewed about singers saying that they are nervous about singing the National Anthem because it is such a difficult song to sing, and the person came right back and said, "no, it's because Whitney sang it." Yes. Who wants to sing the SSB after Whitney done sang it?

And I loved the ending. At the end they tried to show who Whitney really was as a person. They really focused on Whitney's core being gospel and her singing coming from her love of God. They really did show that Whitney was always about her God and the honesty of her love was what made her singing able to touch so many hearts. That was nice. And they ended with Whitney singing I look to you and condolences to the family. That was respectful and heartwarming to see.

I have always thought that when Whitney sang or spoke of her love for God, with that smile of hers, you knew there was, is, a God. Like when you see a rainbow, or see a baby's smile, or a field of flowers, you know. When you see or experience something of wonderous beauty, you know it's not of this world, it is something divine.

I do not know if this was already posted here, but I just found this Video on my twitter Timeline and I would like to share it. It is an interview with Kim Burell where she is talking about how she heard about Whitneys passing and about Whitneys spirit, her faith, her trip to Whitney during the tour in Germany etc.

I'm not thrilled either. Aretha probably would have an excuse not to attend if she weren't performing. And I meant "performing" because that's the way I believe she views it. Historically Aretha has always had a hard time acknowledging Whitney's or anyone else's greatness. She can throw praise at folks who she doesn't feel threatened by easily but great female vocalists are the huge exception with her. Always had been.

While not a "celebrity" tribute, it's definitely a thoughtful one all the same. From the Philippines:

I totally love this picture and what the fans did. It is gorgeous and touching...

Has anyone watched the Whitney Tribute which Leann Rimes did ???
It think I was really touched how she almost cried in the middle of "I will always love you".

What do you think ???

Rev. Deforrest outside of the church put a great context to this whole situation. He knew the family from way back.
